When and why did you start at Full Throttle Fitness?
I’m not sure of the year but it was probably 2014 or 2015 when I started going to Full Throttle Fitness Yoga classes at the St. Peters Community Center after a seasonal friend of mine suggested I join her. I was seasonal too at the time.
What classes are you attending?
Initially, I just went to Friday morning yoga but when we moved to PEI full time in 2017, I started attending Monday and Wednesday No Impact Fitness classes in the mornings.
What do you enjoy about the classes/workouts?
I enjoy the social aspect. Getting gardening, eating or whatever, tips is always nice and there’s always a laugh or two. Courtney, any of the people that have occasionally subbed for her, and the class participants are very pleasant and supportive. I also enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing that I’m actively working on and improving my health.
What physical differences have you noticed since you started?
I’ve had knee problems since I was a teenager and it’s incredulous to me that I’m currently not experiencing any knee pain. I joke that I’m in better shape in my 60’s than I was in my 50’s but it’s true. Courtney is fond of saying, “Your body likes motion.” And she’s obviously right. There’s no doubt that Courtney understands fitness at a very functional level and applies that knowledge well, to the benefit of the participants.
What would you say to anyone looking to start a class or program at Full Throttle Fitness?
I think of going to class at Full Throttle Fitness as better than physio. It keeps me pain free. Is a very good deal cost wise and is ongoing, so I don’t back track. I’m sure if I stopped the knee pain would return as would various other afflictions that just get worse and more chronic as I age. So, if you want to enjoy a better quality of life then take the time to come a supportive, pleasant environment where you’re sure to see improvement in your overall health.
